Bahar Organization launched a community-based initiative in Al-Da’tour neighborhood in Latakia, driven by the belief that local communities are best placed to identify their own needs and shape the solutions that respond to them.

Through the Community Club established by Bahar in the neighborhood, residents’ suggestions were transformed into practical steps aimed at improving quality of life and strengthening the sense of safety.

During consultation meetings with club members, several streets and alleys with limited lighting were identified. In close coordination with the local community, field teams began installing street lighting systems to respond to these needs.

Today, these roads have become brighter and safer during evening hours, helping families move more easily, supporting the mobility of women, children, and older people, and enhancing reassurance within the neighborhood.
