‘We were pleased to meet with Dr. Marwan AlHalabi, Minister of Higher Education, to explore how higher education can support Syria’s recovery and development.

During the meeting, we shared insights from a recent study examining the sector’s role in reconstruction, highlighting the needs, challenges, and opportunities for strengthening institutional and academic capacity.

This study was made possible with the support of Prof. Kelsey Shanks and the Education, Peace, and Politics (EPP) project at Ulster University.
