Rapid Humanitarian Response in Kobani in Partnership with UNICEF
Source: UNICEF
We are grateful to UNICEF for its rapid mobilisation to help us deliver emergency humanitarian aid to Kobani. At such moments of acute humanitarian needs, it is important to know we can count on reliable support from long-term partners. It is worth noting that UNICEF was the first UN agency with whom Bahar Organisation entered into partnership in 2014. Over the years, we have implemented more than 20 projects with UNICEF, benefitting civilians across different parts of the country.
Within our Kobani responses with UNICEF following the delivery of the humanitarian convoy on Sunday (25 January), we have so far hgyiene kits and plastic sheets to 1,250 households in addition to various other supplies vitally needed by families. We have also provided 15,000 liters of diesel to the water authorities in Kobani. This is essentially for the running of generators and water pumping stations, and to optimis the supply of drinking water to the city. Distributions are continuing for the remaining supplies delivered within the convoy.
